Description

The 40-month Extended Credit Facility (ECF) arrangement is helping Liberia preserve macroeconomic stability, mitigate debt vulnerabilities, and enhance financial sector resilience. Reforms under the program have supported domestic revenue mobilization, improved fiscal management, and strengthened policy credibility. The recently approved Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF) arrangement is helping integrate climate resilience into macroeconomic and fiscal frameworks. Nonetheless, Liberia continues to face challenges from declining donor support and a difficult external environment. Higher global fuel prices and dependence on imported fuel, capital goods, and specialized services have increased balance of payments pressures. These pressures have been partly offset by strong mining exports, a one-off mining concession payment, and additional concessional financing, which have also supported continued program implementation.
